Successful Orchestra and Band Tour

On behalf of the LPS Music committee and the school community I would like to congratulate our Wind Ensemble and Orchestra on their amazing performances throughout their tour of the Central Coast. Once again the teaching staff and students at each of the seven schools were in awe of our young musicians. Mums and dads, you would have been so proud of your children- they worked as one big team (78 students) loading in and loading out at each school, supporting and encouraging each other and all the time behaving with such maturity.
A big thank you to Carlo Antonioli, for his hard work in preparing our young musicians for the tour and Anne Sweeney, our string director, for her support.
Thank you also to Vicki Flaherty for working closely with me to organise transport, places to perform , somewhere to sleep and something to eat over the three days. And finally Jann Barry and Emma Virgona for their encouragement and support of our musicians over the three days- It was a great team effort.

2016 School Funding Allocations

All NSW public schools are currently being advised of their 2016 Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. RAM distributes funding based on individual needs of students and schools, and gives schools greater flexibility to make financial decisions.

The way schools use their RAM funding will vary based on local needs. Some support will be for the entire school, and some will be for particular groups of students or individual students.

There is an overview document about the RAM available on the Department of Education website. If you would like to know more about how our school is planning to use the funding to support students, please talk to the Principal.
